Grant
Assuming that any objections during substantive
examination are overcome, a patent is then granted.
A certificate of grant is issued to the patentee, and
the specification of the granted patent is published.
Once the patent has been granted, the patentee can take
legal action against any infringers.
If there has been infringement between the date of
publication and the date of grant, then in some circumstances damages can
be recovered in respect of that infringement.
