Duration of copyright
Copyright is a relatively long-term property right,
with a duration, depending on the type of work, generally as follows:

Literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work: until
70 years from the end of the calendar year in which the author dies. |

Sound recording: until 50 years from the end of the
calendar year in which it is released; |

Film: until 70 years from the end of the calendar
year of the death of the last to survive of the principal director,
author of the screenplay or dialogue, or composer. |

Broadcast or cable programme: until 50 years from the
end of the calendar year in which the broadcast was first made or the
programme was first included in a cable programme service. |

Typographical arrangement of published edition: until
25 years from the end of the calendar year in which the edition was
first published. |
