Ken was educated at
Reading School
(1967-74) and then
Churchill College, Cambridge (1974-77), where he was awarded a
scholarship and gained a double first in engineering. In his second year at
university he specialised to an extent in electronics, and in his third year
in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, control, etc.
